We’re excited to announce that CamCentral now offers CamStreamer apps as add-ons to enhance the capabilities of your Axis network cameras.
With the CamStreamer App, you can live stream directly from an Axis IP camera to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, Dacast, Wowza, Microsoft Stream, Microsoft Azure, and Twitch, all without needing a separate encoder, computer, or public IP address. The app is installed directly on the camera, eliminating compatibility issues and simplifying setup. All configuration is handled through the app itself, no need to switch between services or platforms.
Powerful Streaming Features, No Extra Hardware
CamStreamer leverages the computing power built into Axis IP cameras, allowing for 24/7/365 live streaming with scheduling options for one-time or recurring broadcasts. Streams can be triggered manually via hardware buttons or remotely through API commands.
Supported streaming protocols include:
- RTMP
- MPEG-TS
- HLS
- MPEG-DASH
These expand on the native RTSP/RTP support of Axis cameras, allowing for simultaneous multi-platform streaming, such as streaming to both Facebook and YouTube at the same time.
The app also includes automatic recovery features: if a connection drops, it automatically resumes streaming and sends you a notification by email.
