The AXIS D2122-VE Radar (White) is a professional outdoor perimeter security radar built on the ARTPEC-9 processor with a dedicated deep learning processing unit (DLPU). It delivers a 180° horizontal field of detection and covers up to 20,000 m² (215,000 sq ft) for human detection — operating reliably 24/7 in complete darkness, fog, rain, and adverse weather conditions where conventional cameras fail.

Radar-Video Fusion for Fewer False Alarms

AXIS D2122-VE integrates seamlessly with ARTPEC-9 PTZ cameras for radar-video fusion — a two-layer detection approach where the radar first detects and AI-classifies an object, then a second layer of video analytics validates the trigger before an alarm is raised. This dramatically reduces false alarms and ensures security teams act on verified events only. The radar can also trigger automated responses such as activating a strobe siren, initiating PTZ autotracking, or sending notifications via HTTP/HTTPS/MQTT.

Box-Shaped Detection Zones for Precise Coverage Planning

Unlike traditional radial radar zones, AXIS D2122-VE uses box-shaped detection and recognition zones — enabling precise, gap-free coverage of defined areas such as building perimeters, parking lots, yards, and critical infrastructure boundaries. Multiple configurable zones support line-crossing detection, exclusion zones, speed and object-type filters, and adjustable trigger durations.

Designed for Easy Installation

AXIS D2122-VE uses the same mounting interface as Axis PTZ cameras, simplifying integration into existing infrastructure. A single PoE cable carries both power and data, and the built-in PoE output means you can power an adjacent PTZ camera without running a second cable drop. The dynamic RGB LED strip provides daylight-visible deterrence up to 60 m and can be configured with custom light patterns for alerting or warning.

Powered by Axis Edge Vault — the hardware-based cybersecurity platform with a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure element — AXIS D2122-VE protects device identity, cryptographic keys, and the integrity of all video and data. Signed OS, secure boot, encrypted filesystem (AES-XTS-Plain64 256-bit), IEEE 802.1X/MACsec network security, and support for OAuth 2.0 and OpenID are all built in.
