XProtect LPR Device License (Milestone part number XPLPRCL) licenses one camera for plate recognition in XProtect LPR. One licence is required for each camera that performs recognition, in addition to the single XProtect LPR Base License (XPLPRBL) per system and the country modules for your region.

This is an electronic licence. Nothing ships: the licence is issued against your Milestone software licence code (SLC) and activated in the Management Client. Perpetual XProtect licences include the first year of Milestone Care Plus; keeping Care Plus current gives you version upgrades and full trade-in value when you move to a higher edition.

Frequently asked questions

Does each lane need its own licence?

Each recognition camera needs one licence. If one camera reads two lanes, that is one licence; two cameras is two licences.

Does the LPR camera still need a normal XProtect device licence?

Yes. The XPLPRCL licence is in addition to the edition device licence that every camera on the system needs.

How much server capacity does LPR use?

It depends on frame rate and resolution of the plate stream. We size the LPR server as part of the design; a dedicated LPR server is recommended above a handful of cameras.

Does CamCentral install and support it?
