What the specialization actually means for you

Specialist status is not a marketing badge you can buy. Milestone grants it only when a partner holds the required certifications in-house — both on the design side and the integration side — and keeps them current. For customers, it changes three practical things:

Access to the complete XProtect portfolio. We can now specify and supply every XProtect variant, from XProtect Express+ for a single small site to XProtect Corporate for multi-site, mission-critical deployments.
Project pricing. Larger deployments qualify for project-based pricing rather than list, which materially changes the economics of a multi-site or high-camera-count rollout.
Certified design and certified installation from the same team. Not a reseller passing you to a third party for the parts they can’t do.

The certifications behind it

The specialization rests on two Milestone certifications held inside CamCentral:

XProtect Certified Integration Technician (XCIT) — Vir Kacha. The installation, configuration and troubleshooting credential.
Milestone Certified Design Engineer (MCDE) — Joohi Sinha. The system-design credential covering architecture, storage sizing and server planning.

Together they cover the full lifecycle: designing a system that will actually hold up, then building it correctly.

We can also extend XProtect

One more thing worth mentioning. Alongside the integration work, CamCentral has a small in-house software development practice, and Milestone’s open platform is one of the reasons we chose to specialise in it. The Milestone Integration Platform (MIP) SDK lets a partner build plugins that bring another system into the Smart Client, react to events XProtect does not natively understand, or take a repetitive operator task and turn it into a single action.

We want to be straightforward about where we are with this. Our development experience so far has been on the AXIS camera platform; we are now applying it to Milestone, and we are not claiming a shelf of finished XProtect plugins. What we can offer is a team that already builds against vendor SDKs, understands XProtect from the certified-installer side, and will scope an integration honestly, including telling you when an existing add-on already covers what you need.

XProtect is an open-platform VMS — it supports thousands of camera models across manufacturers, which matters if you run a mixed fleet or want to avoid being locked to one camera brand. The range scales from small business through to enterprise:

Milestone joins a set of manufacturer credentials we have built up over 40+ years in video surveillance: AXIS Gold Solution Partner, Technology Integration Partner and Application Development Partner, plus authorised partner status with Hanwha Vision, Pelco and Genetec. CamCentral also holds a federal Designated Organization Screening security clearance for government work.

That breadth is deliberate. It means when we recommend a platform, it is because it suits your site — not because it is the only line we carry.
